The Easy Ways To Write a Book - 5 Tips

The Easy Ways To Write a Book

If you are anything like me the thought of learning to sit and type and write a book can be overwhelming.

I have good news for you if that is how you feel because I have just discovered this.

As you might know, speech recognition on computers and phones is now big. Not only is it big it’s clever.

I remember this stuff arriving and frankly it couldn’t pick up my accent very well so the results on the page were never really that good.

This week I have been a little short of time so I decided to try and use ‘DICTATION’ in my apple pages.

Honestly, I was amazed at how accurate it was. My accent is Scottish, English, Northern, and Cheshire (I know:). Most foreigners have trouble understanding my English. Page dictation gets it perfectly. And even if it gets wrong it is so easy to correct. Once corrected Pages remembers and the spelling is perfect next time.

That’s pretty cool, right? So now you have no excuse because you can even do this in the bath, in bed, in the car or whilst watching your kids playing.

So here’s the easy way to write a book in 5-tips

  1. Open Apple pages on your MAC

  2. Create a new document

  3. Click the mouse on the new page

  4. Go to edit at the top of the screen or hit fn + D

  5. Then start speaking. It really is that simple.

Just to prove it works I have in front of me a new small booklet I have been creating. It now has 23 pages perfectly typed all using apple dictation.

You can do this on your phone, iPad or Mac. This is an outrageously easy way to at least start writing your book.

If you are writing your memoir just sit in a chair, relax and start talking. Before you know it you will have your book.

PC users, I am sorry as I don't use a PC but I know there is software that works just as well in Microsoft word.

I hope this helps you if you are short of time.

I wouldn’t say this is the best way to write a book but it’s an easy way to write a book and make a start.

Happy writing.
